About the School
Ridgewood seeks to deliver instruction through technology as well as through current, well researched and documented educational strategies. At the elementary level the district as a whole is committed to teaching reading, writing, and language arts through an approach to literacy instruction that encompasses a collaborative design. Mathematics is taught using the Everyday Math Curriculum developed through the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project, and inquiry is the basis for teaching science, which allows students the opportunity to experiment and visualize. Additionally, the art and music teachers strive to integrate the arts within grade level academic units of study. Ridgewood programs and initiatives are supported above and beyond by the committed work of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Education is often taken to the next level through enrichment opportunities provided by their ongoing efforts to make Ridgewood a special place to teach and learn. Additionally, Ridgewood offers a variety of programs and services to aid and enhance the learning process for students. We invite you to become an active participant in our attempt to deliver and celebrate learning on a daily basis. Directions to School
